Fortunately Pete, when you worked "the boats" from UK to NZ you never had to be rescued once, which is a bit of surprise, considering you were on-board! Though I do remember that when in NZ, and they were turning the boat around for the return journey, you worked the docks, and earned extra for "stoop money" and "dirt money". What life you lived. Of course, my fondest memory, is you and I in Norway, trying to get Veronica (my Norwegian girlfriend, who at the time spoke little to none English) to say to Dad, "Goodnight you silly old sod!". And from that point on, Dad was "The silly old sod". And of course, that got us into trouble at Dad's funeral, as "our" reef simply said, "Goodbye, You Silly Old Sod" ....
